Cards Wars

Have you ever wanted to command an army of playing cards, just like in “Alice in Wonderland”? Now you can! Send your card soldiers to battle and make them conquer countless lands for you in this turn-based strategy that is a unique mix of Risk board game and War, the classic card game.

Deploy your soldiers, capture territories, earn experience points and activate powerups. There are 22 levels of increasing difficulty and challenge which feature imaginary and real-world maps like Europe, America, Antarctica or Discworld.

And custom game mode offers you unlimited gameplay variety. There is a Hotseat multiplayer mode, too.

Max players: 10
Drag-and-drop to attack and move. Click to rearrange the garrison. End Turn button is in the top left corner of the screen. Settimgs button is in the top-right corner.

Tips: Sort your deck before attacking.
The battle is over when one of the garrisons looses 50% of its cards.
The victorious card's value is decreased by 1 point. Joker is the strongest card, after the victory it acquires the defeated cards value.
Set the comfortable game speed in the Settings.

  1. I discovered this game a week or so ago thanks to, and it has captured my attention since. I just reached Grand Marshaldom earlier today, and have had a great time with the game.

    You've done a really good job of balancing an interesting mechanic, and it's very interesting how quickly the board position can change. There's some nice emergent strategy which isn't clear at first, and discovering that is part of the fun.

    Two minor issues of interface: Firstly, the final achievement on the Pyramid level does not display the team which one has to use to defeat two others, making it somewhat more of a challenge than might have been intended. (I achieved it with four different sides, incidentally.)

    Secondly, the various interface parts can get in the way a bit, particularly in the top right where I would try and move cards there and open up a new window to GangOfGamers instead. I'd also have liked to be able to keep the statistics window open without it concealing part of the map, but that's a minor issue.

    There was another issue in that I would carefully organise the cards and then they would attack in a different order. I assume this was because I accidentally clicked on one of the ordering buttons when I was trying to drag them. A bit vexing, but I'm not sure what can be done about that.

    I liked the more varied missions, such as the Discworld ones where you only had to defeat a certain other nation. The save-the-penguins one was neat, too.

    I found the two hardest missions to be the kamikaze Japan one, where I had a lot of difficulty convincing the enemy to kill me until I caught on a bit as to how the AI "thinks", and the final pyramid achievement where I had to restart many times.

    All in all, a very enjoyable and lengthy game. Thank you for making it available!
